Moving upward from below the line B (see Figure 2 below), a vertical scan is carried out through the horizontal part of the "cut-off" at 2.5° from V-V. The inflection point (where d² (log E) / dv² = 0) is determined and positioned on the line B situated one per cent below H-H.
